TRENTON CELEBRATES BIKE MONTH
6/16/2017 10:15:29 AM

About 20 cyclists gathered in Trenton to celebrate Bay of Quinte Bike Month this morning. Bike Quinte, a volunteer group promoting cycling in Quinte West, hosted a Bike to Work Breakfast at Smylie's Independent Grocer. Claire Allen with the group says the goal was to encourage riders to start their day off right with exercise and a healthy breakfast.

Community partners include Hastings-Prince Edward Public Health and CAF Connections from 8 Wing CFB Trenton. The city is hosting a free family-friendly eight kilometre bike community ride tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. at city hall. The hour and a half long ride ends at Centennial Park with a Canada 150 tree planting ceremony. Riders will be shown proposed routes and potential infrastructure as part of the city's new active transportation plan. To learn or to get involved, visit www.bikequinte.ca.
