A flood warning will remain in effect in the Quinte Conservation watershed until early Sept. 12. Water Resources Manager Christine McClure says water levels in the Bay of Quinte and Lake Ontario have declined over 30 centimeters since the lake peaked back on May 29, but she says it's still significantly high for this year. McClure says shorline erosion is possible because of the high water levels, added with strong winds and waves. Residents who live along the shoreline are being reminded that any work along it requires a permit from Quinte Conservation. Staff is available to visit properties and assist them with recommendations for protection of the shoreline.
