It was a rainy night for a protest but people still came out to show support in Cobourg. There was a protest yesterday at 5 p.m. at the Division Street location of Tim Horton's in Cobourg and many locations across the province yesterday. In Cobourg, it was about the infamous Tim Hortons letter from Ron Joyce Jr. and Jeri-Lynn Horton-Joyce, the son and daughter of the chain's co-founders, Ron Joyce & the late Tim Horton. John MacDonald, President of the Durham Regional Labour Council, celebrated the workers with a presentation of a cake.

A Facebook page had been developed for the protest. The protest is in response to the owners letter that went out to staff at the end of December in regards to unpaid breaks and having to pay 50 per cent of the cost of benefits, after the minimum wage went up on Jan. 1.
