DRUG CHARGES FOLLOWING SEARCH WARRANT AT QUINTE WEST HOME

Three Quinte West residents are facing charges after being found with a quantity of cocaine and other substances. The OPP Emergency Response Team and the Community Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant on a Quinte West home on Feb. 6. Police report finding more than $3,000 in cash, quantities of cocaine and marijuana with a street value of over $1700, a replica Uzi sub-machine gun, and other drug-related paraphernalia. Two 20-year-old women and a 25-year-old man have all been charged with possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a schedule two drug for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. The man and one of the women were released on a promise to appear in court later this month. The second woman was held for a bail hearing yesterday.
