Lakefront utility workers lend a hand in New York, following a powerful storm that left many without power. Lakefront Utilities Inc. has sent a crew to Westchester County in New York to help restore power in the wake of the nor'easter that wreaked havoc on Northeastern, Mid-Atlantic and Southeastern United States last week. The storm that caused widespread power outages left more than one million people without power. Lineman are currently working up to 16 hour days alongside crews from multiple other electric utilities to repair the damaged distribution infrastructure. Dereck Paul, President and CEO of Lakefront Utilities Inc.

    Paul adds that giving back is important to Lakefront and encourages his staff to do so.

    Lakefront Utilities Inc. responded to an aid assistance request issued on March 4 from New York State seeking help to restore power. Assistance requests like this aren't uncommon in the utility industry and many associations are set up to respond to emergency situations like the recent nor'easter. Lakefront's crew arrived in Rye, New York on Monday and are expected to be there until early next week.
