POLICE SEEKING WITNESSES IN BRIGHTON BREAK-IN
5/10/2018 7:42:54 AM

Northumberland OPP are looking for witnesses after a break-in on April 29. A resident on Sandpiper Way reported the break-in sometime between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm. It appears that entry was gained through an unlocked rear sliding door. The suspect only disturbed one area of the house, a bedroom, where they then stole a quantity of jewellery. As a result of the investigation, police learned of a suspicious vehicle in the area around the same time as the break and enter. Sometime around 10:30 a.m. that morning a man was seen sitting in the vehicle, an older grey Buick sedan, and was confronted by a resident after urinating on their front yard. A woman was also seen exiting the car and walking between two nearby homes, so police believe the two were working together. The male is described as 50 to 60-years-old, 5 feet, six inches (168 centimetres,) 160 pounds (73 kilograms) with an olive/tanned skin tone, dark hair wearing white cotton pants and a dark shirt. No description of the female is available. Anyone with information is asked to contact the police and Crimestoppers.
