NO INJURIES IN LONG WEEKEND FIRE IN BELLEVILLE
5/23/2018 5:12:22 AM

There are no injuries after a fire broke out at a residential complex in Belleville. The Belleville Fire Department responded to the fire at about 5:40 a.m. Sunday morning on Progress Avenue, after an occupant of the residence smelled smoke. When firefighters from stations one and two arrived at the scene, they found flames coming out from the roof. The fire was able to be contained to the upper level and attic area, preventing extensive damage to the whole residential complex. The lone occupant of the building evacuated safely and they had no injuries. Investigation into the fire is ongoing and damage is estimated at about $80,000.
