Conservative Philip Lawrence is the new MP for Northumberland-Peterborough South.
Lawrence edged incumbent Liberal Kim Rudd by over 2000 votes.
Despite the Liberal’s winning a minority government, Lawrence is pleased with the progress his Conservatives made.
Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government claimed 156 seats, 14 short of a majority government.
Despite the Liberals losing their majority government and Rudd losing her seat in parliament, there is lots to be proud of as Kim Rudd explains.
Locally, NDP’s Mallory MacDonald finished third with just over 9,000 votes followed by Green’s Jeff Wheeldon and PPC’s Frank Vaughan.
