Teachers are demonstrating outside of East Northumberland Secondary School in Brighton today, as part of their one day strike to put pressure on the provincial government, in their current
contract dispute.
Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board is one of a dozen school districts where high school classes have been cancelled today. This is the third strike in three weeks by members of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation. Earlier this week talks between the union and the province ended when the mediator declared the two sides are too far apart.
