Quinte West residents are getting some relief from the municipality to help ease the financial strain caused by the response to COVID-19.
Council has approved several measures that will take some of the pressure off of household incomes affected by business closures and layoffs.
Effective immediately Quinte West is delaying the final tax billings to late August and late October.
Public Transit is FREE until the end of April. So is one bag of garbage per week for curbside collection.
Administrative fees for taxes, water and wastewater are suspended until July.
And if you have a dog – registration tags set to expire at the end of this month – are good until Canada Day.
Mayor Jim Harrison says the relief measures are aimed at helping all Quinte West residents make it through this emergency.
