By this fall you could be enjoying an outing on the Presqu’ile Provincial Park Marsh Boardwalk.
Friends of Presqu’ile mounted a campaign to raise enough money to fix the plank path after it sustained serious damage during last spring’s flooding. Friends chairperson Beverly Cook says a local service club stepped up during the home stretch of the fundraiser.
Cook says the campaign truly reflects the generosity of the greater community, even during tough times. Cook notes Brighton Lions was unable to hold its Bingo due to virus protocols and yet gave generously. Many small businesses which have struggled because of COVID-19 shutdowns and seniors on a fixed income, chipped in too.
In total about 130 individuals and companies contributed to the Marsh Boardwalk rehabilitation campaign.
