The Brighton Legion’s Angel Tree is accepting donations, as we get closer to the holiday season.
The annual program gives new toys, gifts and winterwear to children in-need, as part of the Christmas Hamper Program.
New this year, two local businesses are donating to the cause. B&H Carpet at 41 Elizabeth St. is collecting donations in-store until Dec. 9. The Bargain Shop in Brighton is also hosting their annual ‘Fill A Sleigh Day’ on Dec. 5, when 10 per cent of all sales that day, will be donated to the brighton Royal Canadian Legion’s Angel Tree.
Bev Cook says last year’s program provided 134 gift bags to children in Brighton.
She adds that registration is still open, through Northumberland Community Care.
The Brighton Evangel Church will also have an Angel Tree at the church on Dec. 2 and 3, to help collect donations for the program this year.
