Oldies 100.9 news presents the Vanderlaan Building Excellent Educators Day, profiling outstanding leaders in our community.
Lynn Stubbings, Lead at Cook’s School Daycare, says she graduated in 1983 from Early Education and started Cook’s in 1985, helping children develop a love of learning ever since.
Stubbing is the youngest of 12 and loves being around children and knew this was the career for her.
Last September Cook’s Daycare celebrated their 36th anniversary. Stubbings tells us Kim Rudd (who represented the riding of Northumberland-Peterborough South from 2015 until 2019), before becoming involved in politics as a career, was a long-time advocate of childcare and was the Co-Founder of Cook’s Daycare.
Stubbings says she continues to be inspired by her Mom and Dad, her husband, Kim Rudd and the whole “Cook’s Family.”
There have been challenges along the way, including this last year. Stubbings explains.
Stubbings is proud of the program at Cook’s that has gained the respect of many in the area.
