It has been decided to cancel this years Cobourg Waterfront Festival and Canada Day Celebrations due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Community organizers including the Cobourg Lions Club, Rotary Club of Cobourg and the Town of Cobourg have unanimously agreed to cancel for a second year in a row due to the uncertainty of COVID-19.
Marshal Davis, President, Cobourg Lions Club says it comes down to the health and well-being of residents being a top priority.
Davis adds this is the Cobourg Lions Club’s biggest fundraiser for the non-profit organizations that the club supports with the proceeds from the festival, adding that if you want to help the club, they still have a GOFUNDME Page up at https://ca.gofundme.com/f/help-lions-community-centre-stay-open
Davis adds that the Cobourg Lions Club continues to try and balance the books between online auctions (next one coming up Mar 26) and drive-thru take-away dinners (next one is a Ham Dinner on Mar 28).
Davis ends by telling us a bit more about the non-profit organizations that they support and serve.

The Cobourg Waterfront Festival Committee plan to return in the summer of 2022 with an event that is better than ever for the entire community to enjoy.
