The budget process has begun for the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board.
Administration has proposed a balanced budget for the next school year of $440,328,463 based on the priorities set out within the board’s 2019-2022 Strategic Plan – Excellence in Learning, Life and Community.
Budget Chair Angela Lloyd says as always, there are areas of the budget that remain ongoing challenges. They continue to see increasingly complex needs among some of our most vulnerable students. As a result, and to support the health and wellness of all students, the board traditionally budgets additional dollars beyond our Special Education funding allotment.
Board grant revenues are determined provincially based on elementary and secondary student enrolment. Total board enrolment for 2021-2022 is expected to be 33,232 students.
The Budget Committee meets again on June 9th.
