Brighton is getting financial help from the federal Canada-Community Building Fund to pay for road and sidewalk improvements.
Mayor Brian Ostrander says Brighton was developed without sidewalks in many parts of the town.
A total of $1.3 million will be applied to the sidewalks program and the reconstruction of the stretch of Telephone Road between County Road 30 and County Road 26.
