Freshly re-elected Northumberland Peterborough South Conservative PHILP LAWRENCE says for voters, this week’s just federal election was in large part about meat and potatoes. Lawrence says the dramatic increase in the cost of living is an issue that is not going away and one he’ll pay attention to during his second term in Ottawa. And cites the party’s big wins in southeastern Ontario as one reason to continue supporting the leadership of Erin O’Toole. Inside and outside the Conservative Party questions are being asked about O’Toole’s ability to connect with voters.
According to some polling analytics, a third, perhaps even one half of the vote for the People’s Party of Canada came from voters who normally would support the Conservative candidate in their riding.
