If the cost of police checks was preventing you from volunteering, we’ve got good news.
Volunteers are the backbone of many not-for-profit organizations and as of April 1st, the fees you pay to police for Criminal Record Checks and CRC Judicial Matters Checks will disappear.
Oldies 100.9 spoke to Northumberland YMCA CEO Eunice Kirkpatrick who thinks this is a great move toward getting more folks out volunteering.
You’ll still need to pay for Vulnerable Sector Checks, which are considered the most thorough, as they require a comprehensive search of national and local police databases.
