With several doctors set to retire in the next few months, many Trent Hills residents are busy looking for a new physician.
Delayne Donald, executive director of the Trent Hills Family Health Team said recruiting physicians has been a tall order across the province, and a shortage isn’t unique to just this area.
She said in her 21 years with the health team, this is the first time they’ve been unable to recruit physicians.
In total, three doctors have announced their retirement in Trent Hills.
Donald said several nurse practitioners have been starting to register patients, but they won’t be enough to cover all the outgoing doctors.
