The V13 Policetech Accelerator’s competition, hosted in partnership with the Cobourg Police Service and the Northumberland Community Futures Development Corporation is returning on Thursday November 3rd.
Prizes featuring $5,000 in cash, co-location at Venture13, opportunities to pilot and more will be awarded in the two competitions (Community Safety/Operational Efficiencies).
Lisa Munday of the Cobourg Police Service told us more.
The competition will have to flights – one for high school students and a second for post-secondary students and startups.
The competition will engage local youth and start-ups in developing strategies for crime prevention and community wellness.
According to Lisa, sometimes even the best ideas need a little help and Chief VandeGraaf and a panel of industry experts will be there to lend a hand.
The competition exposes participants to collaborative problem solving, while also building upon their entrepreneurial skill sets.
Munday told us what they’re looking for.
And the best part is, winners will have the chance to see their ideas in action.
