Ron Anderson edged out Mark Batemen with 2,421 votes.
He says he is thrilled to be taking on the role.
Also getting re-elected Emily Rowley, who is thrilled with all the new faces on council.
Anne Butwell, Byron Faretis, Jeff Wheeldon and Bobbi Wright grabbed seats.
