Even our four-legged, furry friends want to celebrate the holidays and they can get their chance by participating in the 7th Annual Castleton Santa Claus Pet Parade, which returns on Sunday, December 4th at 2:00pm.
Parade Volunteer Ingrid Schumacher told us about how it all started.
Pets and their owners are invited to get dressed up and participate in the annual Castleton Santa Claus Pet Parade.
The parade is on December 4th, 2022 and starts at 2:00 pm, at the Northumberland Hills Public School (NHPS) on Spring St (CR 25) in Castleton, walking on the sidewalk along Spring Street, then turning right onto Oak St., left onto Pine St., left onto Percy St. (CR 22) and then down to the Castleton Town Hall for hot cider. Again this year, Justin’s Pet Store is providing goodie bags for participants and the local Library will be open too.
Participants are asked to gather starting at 1:30 at the school, and late comers are welcome too, just locate a volunteer to get registered the day of or pre-register using the link here: 2022 Santa Claus Pet Parade Registration (jotform.com)
“This year they have a record number of pets, dogs, horses, Flower the Sheep and even a goat will be walking in this year’s parade,” said Ingrid.
Donations will be accepted Ruff Start New Beginnings, a rehoming dog group. Earlier this year, this rescue group placed their 1800th dog into their forever home.
“Please remember to tuck a few extra dollars into your pockets when you come to the parade on Sunday,” added Schumacher. “We’ll be welcoming any donations, big or small to help the Ruff Start New Beginnings work.”
Bring your pets and participate in the Castleton Santa Claus Pet Parade or gather along the route to see all the furry friends walking.
