The alternate representatives for Northumberland County Council were sworn in at the January 25 meeting.
Deputy Mayors from 6 municipalities were among the alternates, including:
- Nicole Beatty from Cobourg
- Ron Anderson of Brighton
- Sandra Arthur of Cramahe
- Michael Metcalf of Trent Hills
- Joan Stover of Alnwick/Haldimand Township
- Larry Williamson of Hamilton Township
The lone holdout was Port Hope, who previously voted in favour of a rotating deputy mayor position.
The position of county council alternate requires one person to be appointed for the entire term.
