If you’re a senior in Northumberland County, you’ll definitely want to be in attendance for the 2023 Seniors Active Living Fair.
There will be nearly 40 vendors covering topics that range from Arts and Culture to Travel, Sports and Fitness and more.
YMCA’s Raff Melito told us it’s an event not to be missed.
According to Raff, vendors cover a wide range of activities and topics that will be of particular interest to older adults.
The fair and special workshops will be held at the YMCA’s Cobourg location on February 23rd from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm with something for every interest.
Melito told us a bit about navigating the fair.
Vendors and demos will include Travel, Retirement Living, Arts & Culture, Clubs & Special Interest Groups, Healthy Eating, Downsizing Specialists, Mental Health and Staying Active.
There will also be some great Workshops including Balance & Mobility by Dr. David Kim, a Dance Demo by Premiere Dance Cobourg, Light Intensity Interval Training, a Reading by Authour Linda Hutsell-Manning, a Guided Meditation and more.
YMCA’s Raff Melito told us you’ll want to bring a friend for this free event.
The Fair has been developed in partnership between the Older Adult Centres’ Association of Ontario (OACAO) and the Ministry for Seniors and Accessibility (MSAA), with a focus on activities that reduce social isolation, support seniors’ mental health, promote active and healthy living, offer social engagement opportunities, highlight partnerships, independence and learning for seniors, and family members and care partners are encouraged to participate.
