A new crop of Provincial Constables have been deployed – including two to Northumberland County.
The 19 new officers, who are part of Class 500, completed their training at the Ontario Police College in Aylmer, and the Ontario Provincial Police Academy in Orillia. The new Provincial Constables have been deployed to the following detachments:
· Bracebridge – 1 officer
· City of Kawartha Lakes – 3 officers
· Huntsville – 1 officer
· Northumberland – 2 officers
· Nottawasaga – 7 officers
· Orillia – 1 officer
· Peterborough County – 1 officer
· Southern Georgian Bay – 3 officers
Chief Superintendent Dwight Peer says withdiverse backgrounds and experience, these officers provide a wealth of knowledge and prospective to further enhance our ability to deliver exceptional frontline policing service.
The OPP is one of North America’s largest deployed police services with more than 5,500 uniform officers, 2,500 civilian employees and 600 auxiliary members.
