Chief Dave Mowatt and Council sent a strong message on behalf of Alderville First Nation.
According to Today’s Northumberland, Alderville Council and Chief Dave Mowat personally delivered a message yesterday demanding a resident vacate the reservation.
The eviction stemmed from an investigation started by Cobourg Police into the March 7th shooting that saw a man dropped off at Northumberland Hills Hospital with apparent gun shot wounds.
Chief Mowat said “We’re taking our community back – and we’re not allowing this to happen.”
This in reference to the alleged involvement of the resident in events which culminated in a search warrant being executed in Alderville by units of the OPP who have taken over the investigation.
The OPP says that their investigation is ongoing.
