Cameco president and CEO Tim Gitzel was in Cobourg to tour Northumberland Hill’s Hosptial’s Diagnostic Imaging Department and present a cheque to Susan Walsh, president and CEO of NHH, and Rhonda Cunningham, CEO of NHH Foundation.
Gitzel said he is humbled by the work done at NHH.
Over the next two years, NHH has plans to replace both the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Computed Tomography (CT) scanner.
President and CEO of NHH Susan Walsh told us about the impact of Cameco’s gift.
The current CT and MRI machines were state-of-the-art when they were installed more than 13 years but now technology for both has significantly advanced and new equipment will bring this leading-edge technology to Northumberland residents.
Walsh told us CT and MRI machines are both high ticket items.
According to NHH’s Radiologist and CT Medical Director Dr. Frank Marrocco, new equipment will offer better resolution and reduced scanning times which will benefit patients and doctors alike.
