Volunteers within the Kawartha Pine Ridge District School Board were recognized at the latest board meeting.
Accolades were handed out on Tuesday.
Chair Steve Russell says this year has been a wonderful opportunity for our students to return to many of the experiences and activities that make the school year memorable. From helping students to a positive start every morning through school-based nutritional programs to making evening programs of education and engagement possible for the whole school community, our students, staff and families benefit immensely from the time, talents, and expertise that community volunteers offer.
A total of nine award recipients were chosen, and recognized for their exceptional volunteer service:
Cassie Connell, Charles Bowman Public School
Lea Cooke, Courtice North Public School
Corinne Lessif, Dr. Ross Tilley Public School
Deb Hoogwerf, Brighton Public School
Shelise Morgan, Burnham Public School
Kelly Glover, Colborne Public School
Alec Reid, Adam Scott Collegiate Vocational Institute
Denise Dunford, Apsley Central Public School

Also at the meeting, trustees approved the establishment of the Rotary Environment Award to be presented annually to a graduating student of Cobourg Collegiate Institute who has met the award criteria.
