As we enter the thick of planting season, the OPP want to remind the public about safety when sharing the road with farm equipment.
It’s important for drivers to give lots of space when following behind farming equipment.
Constable Craig Solden says that accidents aren’t limited to motorists.
To limit accidents on the road way, Constable Solden recommends that when operating slow moving equipment, try not to hold up traffic unnecessarily – take a couple minutes on the shoulder and let people pass you, as this may reduce aggressive drivers passing unsafely.
He also recommends that operators take breaks, and don’t drive tired, just like driving a car.
