Be advised. The Heroes Highway Ride and Rally will cause a few traffic delays while the tour ends their trip in Port Hope.
Motorists can expect delays on Ontario Street after motorcyclists come off of Highway 401 around 12 p.m. on Saturday, June 3rd. The downtown section through to Memorial Park will also see some delays until 1 p.m.
The rally will also signify two road closures. Queen Street from Walton to Robertson St. will be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Augusta Street from Queen Street to Elias Street will be closed as well.
This will also shift the location of the public transit service central hub from Town Hall to the corner of Robertson and Queen.
An interactive transit map detailing the changes made to bus routes A can be found on the Municipality of Port Hope’s website, under the “Highway heroes Ride” map.
During the day, Memorial Park will host live entertainment in the park’s bandshell, food service and vendors will be on-site from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. If you’d like to see a detailed map of transit changes during the event, visit: Port Hope Transit Routes (arcgis.com)
