‘We owe it to the residents to try’.
That quote comes from Brighton councillor Byron Faretis when it comes to the challenges bringing in better local medical services.
Faretis says the number one issue on his mind is getting medical professionals to fill empty spots in Brighton’s facilities.
A tall order to fulfill as medical shortages are expected to worsen province wide. Faretis says the Health Advisory Board that will be going for approval from the council is their key to tackling the problem.
Faretis went on to explain that one of the solutions he’s considered is petitioning for foreign trained professionals.
The councillor mentioned doctors aren’t the only need, he’d also like to attract the “Ologist” professions, such as respirologists.
