The CPS Summer Series events are free and focus on community engagement as well as safety and crime prevention topics.
The series kicked off last week with a Community Walk on Fraud Presentation with Special Constable Hillary Detlor.
Detlor says seniors seem to be hit the most by fraudsters and reminded everyone to be careful about giving out any personal information online.
Coffee with a Cop – Meet the HARP Team will be the next event in the Cobourg Police Service Summer Series.
Detlor explained what the HARP Team does.
You’re invited to stop by Hello Cobourg Café for a coffee and a snack on July 5th from 10 am to 11:30 to meet the Homelessness Addiction Response Program Team.
Following the Meet the HARP Team event, on July 6th, there will be a Summer Safety Beach Day which Special Constable Detlor says is geared towards kids.
Meet up will be at 1 pm at the Cobourg Police Trailer located on Victoria Beach.
YMCA Northumberland aquatic staff will be on hand for water safety tips as well as to help you work on your sandcastles and sculpture technique.
Bring water, sunscreen, and a hat! Popsicles and sand tools will be provided.
Later this summer you can join CPS for two more events; Kite Flying and Coffee with a Cop – Meet the M-HEART Team.
Kite Flying will take place on Monday, July 17th from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Cobourg Community Centre Fields – 750 D’Arcy Street where the whole family is invited for an afternoon of kite flying and other games with the Cobourg Police Service. Kites, pizza, and Freezies will be provided!
On August 8th you can have Coffee With a Cop and Meet the M-HEART Team at the Craft Food House located at 201 Division Street from 9 am to 10:30 am. Take a Coffee break and stop in for a coffee and snack and to meet the Mental Health Engagement Response Team (M-HEART).
