Solstice Pecile, a horse trainer, has pleaded guilty to animal cruelty-related charges after dragging a tethered horse.
In an incident that unfolded last year, a video emerged depicting the trainer pulling a horse by its lead rope behind a moving vehicle.
During this ordeal, the horse suffered significant injuries, as documented by Pecile herself, including severe hoof abrasions.
The 24-year-old was sentenced in the Cobourg court and was handed a $2,500 fine. She will also endure a five-year ban on horse ownership and caregiving within the province of Ontario, along with a two-year probationary period.
