The team organizing the Manufacturing Conference is set to host representatives from all over Ontario
Darla Price, Northumberland Manufacturers’ Association Executive Director, says they’ve underwent rebranding this year to do this.
They’re working together with Northumberland County Economic Development. The conference is expected to have 250 people who work in manufacturing from all over Ontario.
Director Price says the goal is to get as many outside sources as possible.
They’ll meet up at the Cobourg Community Centre. Their goal is to learn, share what works well, meet with suppliers, and make new connections.
Price flags Northumberland’s industry as stand-out representatives because they have continued sharing recourses, people and policy.
This conference will have things that people always enjoy. There will be useful workshops, tasty breakfast and lunch provided, and a tradeshow where suppliers show their products. Attendees will also have the chance to visit local manufacturers, Canada Candy and Beneco Packaging.
This year, they’ll host a panel discussion called “Women in Manufacturing,” which will feature women leaders from local industries. Plus, students from St. Mary’s High School will provide tasty snacks during breaks.
The conference is also proud to have two keynote speakers. Carrie Freestone, an economist from RBC, will talk about what we can expect in the manufacturing industry in 2024. Mike Fisher, who works at Belden as a Solution Architecture Manager, will share how Belden has put their 4.0 strategy into action.
The conference will happen on Thursday, October 26th.
