CUPE representatives will be going into negotiations to solve ongoing strike feuds.
Kim Craig, President of CUPE local 3314, the representative of Prince Edward County, gives us the details:
“Our colleagues who are nurses and members of the Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA) Local 31 have reached a tentative agreement with Hastings Prince Edward Public Health managers. This agreement was reached late Friday night and ratified on Saturday. Our CUPE public health workers’ bargaining committee presented an updated set of proposals to management’s negotiators on Sunday, aligning them with the terms agreed upon by managers and nurses. We have requested that management return to the negotiation table today, and our picket lines will remain in place until our reasonable, necessary, and financially viable proposals are accepted.”
Reports say they’ll be entering negotiations at 2 p.m. today.
