Habitat for Humanity Northumberland is celebrating the generosity of the community.
From October 31st to November 4th, HTM Insurance and the family and friends of Brandon Watt helped build homes at the Baltimore site. This special week, called Build for Brandon, was organized by Chantelle Watt to honor her late husband’s memory.
Besides giving their time and skills to the build, HTM Insurance and their employees raised $28,000 through online donations and their annual curling event on November 3, 2023. They also got generous donations from local businesses, adding up to $40,000 in savings.
Melissa Morrison, the Community and Fund Development Coordinator, said, “We were amazed by the support. It showed us the impact one person can have on others. This partnership means about $75,000 for this project and helps Habitat Northumberland keep doing its mission.”
Habitat For Humanity Northumberland says the result of this kindness will be felt for years, especially by the 7 families who get the chance to live in the homes.
