With a new year ahead, we asked Northumberland Warden Brian Ostrander about what residents can expect to see coming down the pipe this year.
Top of the list for many residents is High Speed Internet.
Northumberland’s broadband network will deliver a minimum speed of 1 gigabit per second and is expected to rollout before the end of 2024.
Ostrander emphasized the importance of maintaining and developing new projects, including the new Trent River crossing and a project on County Road 64 in Brighton.
The County’s 3 year budget will have a dedicated 1-percent levee to address projects like these over the next three years.
Ostrander also told us about the work that County paramedicine professionals will continue play a key role.
Currently, the Community Paramedicine program delivers non-emergency in-home health services like ECGs, blood draws and more to help manage the high demand for emergency services, hospitals and clinics.
