For the last 10 years, Green Wood Coalition has hosted a local Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) to help people better understand our friends and neighbours living with poverty, mental and physical illness, drug dependency and disability.
They’ve been called a “radically inclusive, street-level organization” who engage their clients through relational approaches, healing through art, supports for recovery, and community activation.
Green Wood’s outreach staff assist and empower individuals who are having difficulty navigating the systems, and barriers surrounding housing, income, healthcare and food security by providing individualized information and support.
This year’s Co-Chair Debbie Frye told us it’s a tremendously important night.
Once again this year, Green Wood Coalition are hoping you’ll help support those in our community who face issues like hurt, hunger and homelessness.
Co-Chair Debbie Frye says all the money stays in the community and is used for outreach.
According to Co-Chair Debbie Frye this is the biggest yearly fundraising event for Green Wood Coalition
This year’s schedule starts with a meet, check-in and welcome starting at 4 pm on February 24th.
