A well-known politician in the region has died.
Daryl Kramp, who served as an MP for four terms in Prince Edward-Hastings and one term as an MPP in Hastings-Lennox and Addington, was 76.
Bay of Quinte MP Ryan Williams put out a statement on social media which read: “Rest in peace to former Hastings Prince Edward MPP Daryl Kramp, a man who put family and faith first and who loved the community he served.”
The Mayor’s Office in Belleville also put out a comment:
We are deeply saddened to have learned of the passing of Daryl Kramp. Daryl was truly a champion for our community throughout his time as both MP and MPP in Belleville and the surrounding region, and we will always be grateful for the contributions he made to our city. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. On behalf of the City and Council, I extend our sincere condolences to his wife Carol Ann, family and loved ones, including his daughter, MP Shelby Kramp-Neuman. The flag at City Hall will be lowered this morning until further notice in his honour.
