The local branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) has named a new executive director that’s quite familiar with the agency’s programs and outreach.
Ellen Watkins, who joined the Peterborough-based agency in 2021 as director of corporate services, replaces the vacancy left by the retirement of 31-year executive director Mark Graham.
While acknowledging she has “big shoes to fill,” Watkins says she brings to her new role the advantage of having worked under “an amazing leader.”
Watkins is excited to work with the CMHA team moving forward.
Besides leading adherence to a recently developed strategic place, Watkins says, on a personal level, she’s focused on one thing first and foremost.
