Batawa Lions’ annual Easter egg hunt fun is making a return for its 21st year in 2024.
And organizers say the weekend lineup is shaping up to be a blast for area families.
The family fun returns this year thanks to the combined efforts of the Batawa Lions Club, the Trenton Military Family Resource Centre (MFRC), and the Batawa Development Corporation (BDC).
Here’s a quick rundown of festivities:
The egg hunt and additional festivities rounding out the Easter weekend fun are set for Saturday, March 30. The event is geared for kids of all ages and families.
From 9 a.m. to noon, the lineup includes a pancake breakfast and activities such as face painting, a firetruck and police car display, and, of course, the egg hunts.
For infants to kids up to age five, the egg hunt will be at 10:30 a.m., and for ages six to 12, searching starts at 11:30 a.m., said organizers.
Prices are as follows: $5 for the egg hunt; $8 for a kid’s pancake breakfast; $10 for an adult pancake breakfast, and $30 for a family pancake breakfast (this includes two guardians and up to three kids).
But the egg hunt is free with the purchase of a kid’s breakfast, noted organizers.
There’s no online or registration – registration is on the day of, and on a first-come, first-serve basis, explained organizers.
Interested families are encouraged to arrive early as supplies are limited. Organizers noted the hunt will have enough chocolate and goodies for about 700 kids.
There will also be hot chocolate and Easter bunny photo-ops.
Breakfast and other activities are open to all, added organizers, while extending an invitation to families to visit the Batawa Community Centre (81 Plant St.) on March 30 to get in on the excitement of the Easter season.
