The Ed’s House Northumberland Hospice Care Centre Foundation has shared the amazing success of the Handbags for Hospice 2024 event! They raised a whopping $111,115 and would like to thank all their sponsors, especially Tony Pulla of Re/Max Lakeshore Realty and Jacqueline Pennington of Re/Max Hallmark First Group Realty who’s support was crucial.
Director of Donor Relations and Communications Joel Scott also credits the hard work of all of the volunteers.
Co-Chairs Jan Rosamond and Pam Trumper said, “The success of the April 4th event is a testament to the incredible support we have received from our community. It’s heartwarming to see everyone come together for such a meaningful cause. We are immensely proud of what we have accomplished together as a committee, and we look forward to continuing our work to support hospice care in Northumberland.”
Scott said that this event alone raises nearly 10 percent of their annual finances and he couldn’t be more grateful for the community’s support.
Sherry Gibson, Director of Hospice Services, added, “The generosity displayed at Handbags for Hospice will make a profound difference in the lives of those in need. We are deeply thankful for the continued support of our sponsors, donors, and community members.”
The funds raised will support hospice services like the Palliative Care Community Team and Visiting Hospice, along with the care provided at Ed’s House. These services are free for hospice clients and families.
Scott also credited a great community for the event’s continued success.
Scott said that a big thank you needed to go out to Lynn Hardy for her matching donation and continued support. Her gift helped raise $33,832, supporting the build of four new suites at Ed’s House. Lynn is Chair of the Ed’s House Foundation and has been involved since the beginning.
“We extend our heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming support from our sponsors and community. Many thanks also to the Handbag for Hospice Committee who were able to deliver a fun, entertaining and memorable evening for all,” said Trish Baird, CEO of Community Care Northumberland (CCN).
