A Trenton man is feeling like a million bucks — literally.
On Wednesday, OLG announced Timothy Annett, of Trenton, won “Ontario’s jackpot,” totalling $1,032,525.40 in the April 13, 2024 Lottario draw.
Annett, who works as a material handler, told OLG he typically picks up a Lottario ticket when the jackpot is high.
“I considered picking up a Lottario ticket while at the store but decided against it because I noticed the jackpot had recently been won,” he shared, while at the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto to collect his winnings.
“I went back out to my car and noticed I already had a Lottario ticket in my centre console. I scanned the ticket on the OLG app, and I was shocked,” recalled Annett.
“I couldn’t believe that it was my ticket that had won the jackpot! I walked back into the store in a daze. It was a wonderfully chaotic experience.”
This was his first big lotto win.
“I was shaking, and my mind was racing,” he continued, when looking back on learning about the million-dollar win initially.
“I was immediately struck by what this win means for me. I feel so much gratitude and I am so thankful for this blessing.”
He plans to use his windfall to purchase a home and to travel, with hopes of experiencing adventures all over the world.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Round Hill Gas Station on Highway 33 in Trenton.
Lottario launched in 1978 as Ontario’s first terminal lotto game, noted OLG.
Tickets are $1 and the draws take place every Saturday. Tickets purchased before 10:30 p.m. on Fridays are eligible for the early-bird draw.
