Two 18-year-olds are facing charges after an assault investigation in Campbellford, say Northumberland OPP.
On Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at about 10:20 a.m., officers said they responded to an address on Ranney Street in Campbellford for a report of two individuals engaged in an assault with each other where a weapon was involved.
Paramedics also responded and both individuals were transported to hospital where they were treated for minor injuries, reported OPP.
An OPP scenes of crime officer (SOCO) also attended to assist with the investigation.
Police said as a result of their investigation, one 18-year-old from Campbellford was charged with assault, and another 18-year-old Campbellford resident was charged with assault with a weapon.
None of these charges have been proven in court. Both accused are due to appear in Cobourg court later.
No other details were released by police.
