It’s official – you can join in the “pop-up” fun along Quinte West’s waterfront trail in Centennial Park.
Opening day for the City of Quinte West Pop-ups is Friday, May 31.
“The Quinte West Pop-ups are a favoured feature of the city’s summer activities schedule, and we are thrilled to kick-off the 2024 season back in Centennial Park,” said Shannon Millar, tourism co-ordinator with the city. “Highlights of this year’s pop-ups include the theme week programming, live music on Saturdays, kid’s crafts and activities, garden games, and more.”
This year’s program promises an exciting lineup of businesses, artisans, home cooks and food vendors, with plans to dish up unique dining and retail experiences.
The city said this year’s lineup features both new and returning vendors, including Banana Splitz, Barbacoa Boyz’ food truck, K Food Express, Street Thai Food with Pao, the Forge Woodfired Pizza, Totes and More and Trendsetter Canada.
Offering up more summer fun, there will also be a rotation of “mini pop-up vendors,” including, Everything is Art, From the Homestead, Hoselton Studio Ltd., and Sweet Burrow Co., for shorter two-week rotations.
The live performances, activities for kids, selfie spots and more, will round out festivities.
Pop-up hours to start are May 31 to June 23 on Fridays to Sundays 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
From June 27 to Sept. 2 on Thursdays to Sundays the hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The hours are the same for holiday Mondays on July 1, Aug. 5, and Sept. 2.
The addition of “theme weeks” this year aims to offer free fun for all, all summer long, added organizers.
As part of this, there’s Pride at the Pop-ups from June 7 to 9; Christmas in July from July 11 to 14, a real-life superheroes theme Aug. 15 to 18, and more.
A full rundown of weekly themes and more vendor information is accessible via the city’s website.
The pop-up program features wood cabins and food truck stations equipped with hydro and water connections overlooking the Trent River in Centennial Park.
The program is aimed at supporting local businesses and artisans.
