If you’re into model trains, the Brighton and Presqu’ile Railway Association has you covered with some fun this weekend.
President Bob Coker says the non-profit club is hosting two events this Saturday.
This marks the third year for the association’s “Model Train Market” and club open house event.
Modellers and others are invited to join in the fun. The market features new models and accessories, bargains on flea markets finds, and more, says Coker.
At last count, Coker says some 70 tables and 30 or so vendors were scheduled to be at the market Saturday. They’ll have trains and related items, such as collectibles, cars, photographs, et cetera.
Hosted at King Edward, the market runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Kids 12 and under attend for free.
And it’s free admission all around to the clubhouse, which is located at 58 Prince Edward St. in Brighton. The club will have model displays – referred to as “layouts” – running for people to check out.
Coker says any monies generated through the weekend help the non-profit club to keep running.
