This summer, the province says that Ontarians can easily find their favourite local brews, wines, ciders, and spirits with their new interactive map.
Launched by the Ministry of Finance, this map connects consumers to over 2,300 retailers, including more than 1,000 local producers. The initiative aims to support local businesses and offer more convenience to shoppers during the ongoing OPSEU strike.
“This new map is a great way to connect people across the province to local Ontario-made products and support the hundreds of Ontario businesses and thousands of Ontario workers who make these products and serve customers each and every day,” said Premier Doug Ford.
The map features a variety of retailers, from local breweries and distilleries to LCBO Convenience Outlets and licensed grocery stores. It will be regularly updated as new locations begin selling alcohol and LCBO stores reopen.
“Our government is delivering on its commitment to expand the province’s beverage alcohol retail marketplace to increase choice and convenience for shoppers earlier than planned,” said Peter Bethlenfalvy, Minister of Finance.
Starting in August, grocery stores that already sell beer and wine will offer new products like coolers and other ready-to-drink beverages. By October 2024, all eligible convenience and grocery stores in Ontario will have the option to sell a broader range of alcoholic beverages, significantly expanding consumer choice and convenience.
