The summer months are in full swing!
The kids are off school and there’s more traffic on the roads with people traveling to their summer destinations.
We spoke with Bill Dickson, OPP Media Relations Coordinator, who had this to share with motorists.
This time of year, you also may notice more cyclists traveling and enjoying the beautiful scenery we have in Northumberland County.
If you’re driving past a cyclist, Dickson shared a reminder you’re to give them 1 meter or 3 feet of space.
And if you’re hitting the road to the cottage or your favourite local spot, Dickson says to pack your patience.
One more thing: If you’re out on the water, bring your life jacket with you; If you’re on a bike or ATV, wear a helmet; And if you’re getting behind the wheel, make sure you buckle up.
