Located in Port Hope, Lauria Hyundai combines 40 years of award-winning sales and service with Canada’s hottest Car Company.
President, Frank Lauria, his wife, Sandra, along with sons Bud and Patrick have called Port Hope home for over 30 years.
Bud Lauria tells us about growing up in the business.
The business has changed a lot since it first opened its doors in 1984 as a Pontiac dealership. In 2009, the economy was in dire straits and in response, General Motors cancelled the Pontiac brand.
For Bud and his father Frank Lauria, it was a chance to look at new opportunities and within 6 months, they’d changed signage and filled the lot with brand new Hyundai’s.
For the next eight years, the Lauria family worked to strengthen the team with friendly and efficient service as the foundation of their business.
Lauria tells us about what came next.
According to Bud, taking care of customers, whether through developing their own state-of-the-art software or opening Classic Rock 107.9’s York Bell Smith’s favourite car wash (disco lights at no extra charge), is always top-of-mind.
When asked about the dealership’s success, Bud attributes a lot of it to great staff.
From sales to service, the Lauria team always strive to go beyond the call of duty to make sure their customers are completely satisfied. That spirit of giving is something that has also spilled into the wider community where you’ll see many events and fundraisers for local initiatives sponsored by Lauria.
For Bud, it’s just part of being a community-based business.
So drop in to Lauria Hyundia and wish them another 40 years of success serving the community.
