Tim Hortons will be hosting its annual Camp Day on Wednesday, July 17. On this day, 100 per cent of every purchase of a hot or iced coffee will go to support Tims Camps in Canada.
Former camper Laura found Tims Camps to be an inclusive and safe environment where she not only had fun but saw there was more to life than her circumstances. She excelled academically, which likely resulted in her elementary school principle referring her to Tims Camps. Laura attended Tim Horton Children’s Ranch in Alberta in 1997.
She recalls particular activities like rock climbing, horseback riding and white water rafting which helped her develop life skills including confidence, a sense of adventure and a deep love of the Rockies.
Laura says knowing adults were invested in her well being was game changing.
“It was the first time I knew that there could be more for me; that life wasn’t just what I had been exposed to.” says Laura. “Tims Camps truly and honestly changed my life.”
According to Laura, the memories she made have lasted to this day.
Laura, now 37 years old, says the experience led her to her full-time career, helping others as she’d been helped by working as a full-time fundraiser for Diabetes Canada. She is also a board member for Do Good Donuts.
This Wednesday, your support will help ensure thousands of young people have the opportunity, like Laura, to discover their true potential through a life-changing, Tims Camps experience.
Tim Hortons Regional Marketing Manager Christine Beaudrie tells us how, since 1974, Camp Day continues to made a difference.
So drop by for a coffee, or grab a Take-12 pack for the office and help send a kid to camp.
